My '52 3100 pickup has bucket seats from, who knows?, possibly a Blazer or S-10. The previous owner mounted the seats on brackets made of wood. Not ideal, in my opinion, for a lot of reasons. I don't have ready access to welding equipment so I am trying to find some aftermarket seat brackets that might work. Anyone out there have any success with the multitude of options out there?

I had a local welding shop weld some square tubing for us to use as seat brackets. We measured a height for the seat and had them use, I believe 1/4 inch flat material welded into square tubing! We then drilled holes to mount the seats and to attach the brackets to the floor. We may have over done the brackets, but I don't think they will come off in an accident! Cost was about $35 4 years ago!

Thanks, coach-frank, for the suggestion. I am off in search of a local fabricator. The interior in this truck was done by a rank amateur. Needless to say, wooden seat mounts would not be my only problem. But I would prefer to be sitting on something that isn't prone to termite damage.

I did look at that frame but it is too high for the seats in the truck. I originally posted because I have seen other universal frames and wondered if any of you had experience with any of them in a 3100. If all else fails, I can use the Speedway design and get one fabricated to fit my truck. Thanks for the info, Brad.
