The old ones are so rusted that they can't be used. This has got to be a common problem - how has it been solved by others?

It recesses the bolt head so there's no bulge in the floor covering/carpet.

It recesses the bolt head so there's no bulge in the floor covering/carpet. Mine too. That's why I suggested the body washers. I checked Classics web site and the panel they sold for the driver side clearly shows the raised area, so I'm wondering if I don't understand what he's referring to.

The difference is the original recessed area is reinforced with a second layer of metal welded on, form-fitting into the recessed area. Body washers may have to do.
