Has anyone changed out the standard headlamp bulb on your early chev pickup with AutoLoc's Snake Eye Conversion Bulb? I have a Painless wiring harness to handle the additional amp draw but was wondering if you had any problems in installation.

Any info will be appreciated.

I have the similar Tri Bar headlamps, didn't have any problems at all. I ran mine through the stock style harness and switch, no issues even with the Silverstar H4 bulbs i installed in them.

Same here. I used TriBar sealed beams on my '40 with Painless wiring harness. Just plugged right in - no issues.

I use Hella and Cibie H4 housings in my VW's. They have an excellent beam pattern and cutoff.

Your harness should handle a stock 60/55 watt bulb. On my vehicles I do add relays to take the current off the switch and provide maximum power to the lamps. I noticed a difference after adding the relays.

For the stock 6 volt guys there are 6 volt bulbs and relays available.
