If the battery terminals come through the holes shown on the top of the 6v topper, that top might not fit on a 6v Optima placed diagonally in an Advance-Design battery tray. http://quailservices.com/index.html The price directly from Tar Topper looks a lot better.

As I posted above, the 6v Optima has to be placed on the diagonal on the original tray.
I also am able to use the 6v Optima in the stock battery tray on my 54/55 6v (positive ground) New Design GMC COE's battery tray.

I may try to make my own later will post pictures when I get the time to fabricate one.
