I would like to add a brake booster but I cannot find a kit for a 3/4 ton. I understand the frames are different from a 1/2 ton. Does anyone know of a kit that would work and what modifications would be necessary to install it. Thanks, Erin

| | | | | Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 4,983 Master Gabster | | Master Gabster Joined: Oct 2006 Posts: 4,983 | The Chevy 1/2 ton is around 11" wider than the 3/4 ton. If that is a fact with the GMCs it wouldn't matter for the break MCs or adding a booster.
However my experience with brakes is after the 216 and 4spd tranny has been removed. A booster might interfere with the clutch. Someone with that experience will drop by soon I'm certain.

I think you might have to modify something, as these didn't come with "boosters" so your lines and a possible crossmember fab might be the only other thing you need to do.
