| | | | Joined: Mar 2010 Posts: 118 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2010 Posts: 118 | Howdy, Im trying to install the front disc brake conversion kit from Performance Online on my 57 gmc half ton and i dont know if im doing something wrong or the setup is wrong but im having problems. The kit that i have is the 11 inch rotor one. When trying to install everything earlier i was having problems with the calipers not clearing the spindle. I bolted the bracket up with the spacers between the bracket and the spindle and when i wanted to bolt on the calipers the spindles get in the way of the calipers. http://i1205.photobucket.com/albums/bb422/gumbi18/1957%20GMC%20half%20ton/002.jpghttp://i1205.photobucket.com/albums/bb422/gumbi18/005.jpg since the calipers dont clear they do not bolt up like they should. This is the part of the caliper that is hitting the spindle: http://i1205.photobucket.com/albums/bb422/gumbi18/005.jpgCould i just take a grinder to that nub and make a little cutout for the corner of the spindle to make things fit right or would that be a bad idea. Has anyone else had this problem or am i just missing something. I havnt called POL about this problem yet, thought i would try here first. Thanks Cody

It won't hurt to trim just enough to give you a 1/16" gap. Those "nubs" are for locating and holding the hose end to the caliper. There isn't any passages in that area of the caliper.
