I am new and considering a 62 C10 and I think I would want a 5 speed. Has anyone done this in this year range? I have read the posts about the swaps in the older trucks and I was hoping that on the 60's vintage trucks it might be a little more straight forward. Thanks! Paul.

You have an open drive shaft so you will not have to change rear ends. I like to get a universal crossmember & put it under the trans. Some just let it hang out like the original but that long aluminum case is not meant for that. They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing. 1972 Chevy c10 Cheyenne SuperIn the Gallery Forum

Almost any old truck site you look at has info on this swap...this particular site being by far the best of course. I have one in a '63 and love it.
