...I'm wondering what kinda bag-o-snakes it'd be to swap into one of my trucks. I have a couple of trucks in mind;one is my '57 GMC half ton-it'd have to be a stick,so I need to find out what flywheel will work. Bell housing's no problem,I have a Pontiac one I can use. The major concerns are exhaust clearance, motor mounts, and clearance for the oil filter.
The other candidate is Max,my '74 one ton;if I put it in that truck,I'll probably have most of the same concerns, but I expect to see a lot more room for everything, but then oil pan clearance may be an issue.
Anybody done any swaps with the big Buick motors?

I have not done one but have heard that they have a lot of low end torque, not a bad way to go.........just dive in you can do it.

My grandpa bought a brand new 72 LeSabre with a stage III 455, fast forward about 20 years and the body rotted so my dad removed the body and replaced it with a 59 Chev 1/2T. All I remember is not being able to get any traction with the rears and they spun all the way down our street! Torque Monster
