After years of exposure to the elements my Grandads 1966 Chevy refuses to die. I recently pulled her out of the woods and put a set of tires on. I did a complete tune up and was amazed when the truck fired and actually ran. I have replaced the wheel cylinders and brake shoes all the way around. This is going to be a long hard process. Here goes nothing....

To have a truck with family ties has to be very rewarding. Neat truck... I love the look.

Congrats on the adventure and good luck in the process. There is something magical about the experience of doing what you are doing, especially since the truck has family history. Keep us posted.

Thanks for everyone's response. Growing up my dad owned a 1965 Chevy C10 that my brother and I both learned how to drive with. It had a 230 with a 3 on the column. My grandad had his 1966 Chevy C10 that he bought new with a 250 and 3 on the column. I grew up with these trucks and I really am partial to these body styles.

That truck looks a lot better than mine did when I started. The only original body pieces on my truck is the dash and hood. SO you look like you are well on your way to an easy resto. Good luck with your project. Thanks for the nice comment on my pics the other week.
