For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Dec 2010 Posts: 44 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Dec 2010 Posts: 44 | After years of exposure to the elements my Grandads 1966 Chevy refuses to die. I recently pulled her out of the woods and put a set of tires on. I did a complete tune up and was amazed when the truck fired and actually ran. I have replaced the wheel cylinders and brake shoes all the way around. This is going to be a long hard process. Here goes nothing.... http://i1185.photobucket.com/albums/z342/BigRicks66/IMG_0086.jpg | | | | | Joined: Aug 2007 Posts: 462 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Aug 2007 Posts: 462 | WOW looks to be in very good shape. | | | | | Joined: Jul 2008 Posts: 1,262 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jul 2008 Posts: 1,262 | To have a truck with family ties has to be very rewarding. Neat truck... I love the look. | | | | | Joined: Nov 2004 Posts: 1,552 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Nov 2004 Posts: 1,552 | Congrats on the adventure and good luck in the process. There is something magical about the experience of doing what you are doing, especially since the truck has family history. Keep us posted. | | | | | Joined: Nov 2010 Posts: 54 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Nov 2010 Posts: 54 | These old trucks have 9 lives, It looks to be fairly solid! I'm glad you rescued it!!

Growing up my dad owned a 1965 Chevy C10 that my brother and I both learned how to drive with. It had a 230 with a 3 on the column. My grandad had his 1966 Chevy C10 that he bought new with a 250 and 3 on the column. I grew up with these trucks and I really am partial to these body styles. | | | | | Joined: May 2009 Posts: 47 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: May 2009 Posts: 47 | That truck looks a lot better than mine did when I started. The only original body pieces on my truck is the dash and hood. SO you look like you are well on your way to an easy resto. Good luck with your project. Thanks for the nice comment on my pics the other week. | | |
