You can probably straighten that out. Aren't you glad you were not driving a little ricer. | | | | | Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 171 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 171 | I don't know I took it off & tried straightening it today. while much better it still has a long ways to go. my metal working skills are improving all the time but I still don't have much experience with badly mangled stuff. don't matter now. I asked my lovely wife to hold the torch for me & she offered to buy me a new fender for christmas. since I know where another 1 ton is with a straight body I can get for 500 bucks, she's going to get me that instead. I think she's a keeper!

These trucks do not swerve well. http://s1003.photobucket.com/albums/af152/callmedh/ | | | | | Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 171 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 171 | he jumped out of the ditch straight into the truck. there wasn't time to think about swerving. unfortunately it happens quite often around here. too bad about your panel. hope you weren't hurt. | | | | | Joined: Apr 2010 Posts: 18 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Apr 2010 Posts: 18 | dh53 that makes me ill seeing the panel on its side, did you get her fixed? | | | | | Joined: May 2010 Posts: 74 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: May 2010 Posts: 74 | she became an organ donor. there was just too much metal work to make it worthwhile fixing. Her parts are now scattered about, including several members of this site.
The good news is that I was able to take the insurance money and buy another truck I really wanted! | | | | | Joined: Apr 2010 Posts: 18 New Guy | | New Guy Joined: Apr 2010 Posts: 18 | yeah you have to do that sometimes | | | | | Joined: Jan 2008 Posts: 4,960 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2008 Posts: 4,960 | I live in Texas hill country which is deer country. You should consider yourself lucky that you didn't get the grille, radiator and hood as well. | | | | | Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 171 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Mar 2005 Posts: 171 | actually it did bend the grill a little but I think it'll straighten out. yeah it could have been worse but what makes me feel lucky is my lovely wife who bought me a parts truck for Christmas to fix it with. | | |
