old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Nov 2010 Posts: 304 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Nov 2010 Posts: 304 | I just came across a 350 engine, 350 tranny and a posi rear(all for 1K) that might work in my '52. My question is will a rear end out of a 78 camaro fit? I always read "early 70's" for the rears that fit this truck. I know the width is the issue (most likely) so what is the correct width? Measured from drum to drum in inches I would inmagine. Just wondering.

This thread has very little to do with transmissions. | | | | | Joined: Nov 2010 Posts: 304 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Nov 2010 Posts: 304 | I will change title to Rearend question instead of tranny question. My bust, I had several things going on at once.

I do not have the Camaro front clip, those items have already been removed. Thinking about that aftermarket mustang front end if I don't sell the truck first.

That is what is refereed to as a 10 bolt rear. The gear ratio may not suit you. If so then check out Ebay and compare prices with NAPA or your FLAPS for a new set. NAPA can sometimes beat Ebay's price as you won't be paying shipping charges.
