Not much of anything in a locking type differential available until you get to the '63 and up with the 12 bolt rear, and even then it has to be the 30 spline ('65) axle.

The 48-54 1/2 ton axles used the same housing didn't they through at least '59 minus the enclosed drive shaft after 54??
I will say the site has changed quite a bit since I had last been on here.....

The '60-'62 also used a simlar housing, but I think it might be even wider, plus it's setup for the coil spring suspension on 2wd trucks. There was a Posi option on the '60-'62 alxe, but it was very rare, and no parts are being made for it, although there is still a listing for replacment clutch packs for them through the GM dealers.
