The Numbers I took off of are as follows, On the Tailhousing # R10E-1A,W.G.DIV 48. All I could find on the Tranny it's self is #1A-7222, this was by the shifters. I have pics too but if anyone can go off this info please let me know. I have decided to go with a factory 3spd OD for my truck in order to try and get a better top end speed. I like bolt in stuff so that's the best route for my to go. Thanks!

#69785 12/11/2006 11:06 PM | Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 2,097 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 2,097 | Danny, If it has a 4 bolt side cover it is the early style 55-65 non syncro first gear and will bolt in place if you have the long tail housing stock 3 speed. In the early 60's GM started using the short tail housing so you may have to shorten the driveline. If it has the 7 bolt side cover it is a later Saginaw - full syncro. It will require a fine spline front yoke and will have different shift arms on the side cover, it also may have a larger front bearing retainer. Either one will make you happy. Fred
