Danny, If it has a 4 bolt side cover it is the early style 55-65 non syncro first gear and will bolt in place if you have the long tail housing stock 3 speed. In the early 60's GM started using the short tail housing so you may have to shorten the driveline. If it has the 7 bolt side cover it is a later Saginaw - full syncro. It will require a fine spline front yoke and will have different shift arms on the side cover, it also may have a larger front bearing retainer. Either one will make you happy. Fred
