On my 52 panel REAR there is a short round brace that attaches to the back/bottom of the fender and goes to the chassis. Once you stick the brace there its sort of easy to figure out. Not sure about the front but I believe you have one that attaches at the back of the (down at the bottom of the cowl area) and it also goes over and attaches to the chassis.
Do you have acess to an assembly manual? I'll check mine when I get out to the shop and see if it shows it. Maybe ai can get my wife to scan it!! | | | | | Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall | | Moderator: Welcome Centre, Southern Bolters, Legion Hall Joined: Dec 2001 Posts: 14,522 | Lenny, I checked my assembly manual and it does show the front fender brace at the rear of the front fender at the cowling. I was WRONG ABOVE about it fastening to the Chassis. It does fasten to the lower lip of the fender but goes what looks like Vettical...then against an anti-squeak pad then put the bolt through it. My wife will be back after lunch and I'll get her to scan a the pic and see if I can post it here. If not, I'll send it to you in an email. | | | | | Joined: Jan 2007 Posts: 219 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2007 Posts: 219 | Excellent, I don't think the braces attach to the chassie at all not sure but i am thinking they come back to the body only. The body mounts do all the work and the body just wobbles around on the chassie. It bolts to the bottom of the fender lip and then goes to the chassis. They are short round rod type braces. Maybe the 54 are the same. | | | | | Joined: Jan 2007 Posts: 219 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2007 Posts: 219 | Good , I was given a bunch of these rod's a few years ago and that has been part of my trouble ,I have to many.I'll do some matching up and should be able to take it from there, thanks again Len
