The only problem is the head is not drilled for the four bolt valve cover. I have used them many times.

I once drilled a 216 head for a four bolt cover and I hit water. I used studs in that case. I have not drilled a 53 head, I just use them on jobs where the customer wants to use a 216 valve cover for a stock look.
