Had to be before 1951. The plate was from NC '51.
It still hurt though.

Be careful calling yourself a expert, because an "EX" is a hasbeen and a"SPERT" is a drip under pressure.

Wow, check out the other pictures in that album. Two have a new car hauler (around 1958) slid off the road.

Car transport has a load of new 58' F*rds being winched out by what I think is a Federal ( or Mack) wrecker. Any others guesses?

That's actually not the entire photo. I've seen that photo over on tow411.net, & it showed the wrecker closer to the front of the photo, & it was a '47-'53 Chevy COE.

Go to www.tow411.net , & type in "old car carrier wreck" in search topic, for more photos of this wreck.

Yes, I saw the rest of the photos on the original site offered but since we all know what the Chev is I wondered if anyone knows what the conventional cab truck is.
My guess is still Federal, perhaps a Mack or in third place an Indiana.

I think the conventional wrecker is an early model B Mack.

Love the grille guard on the COE but that is not a B series Mack tow truck in the background.
