I acquired a used radiator; the seller said it was from a V8 truck. My stock radiator (1957 Chevy, 3/4 ton, six cylinder)is about 3/4 of an inch wider and an 1/2 inch thinner than the purported V8 radiator. My new engine is a 283, I haven't figured out the shroud issue yet.

| | | | | Joined: Jul 2001 Posts: 3,887 Cruising in the Passing Lane | | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Jul 2001 Posts: 3,887 | the rads for the 6 and 8 are the same, just mounted different [V8 rad further back] - I believe there was a heavy duty version tho, which would be different in thickness - but if the rad isn't the same width as yours it isn't for a 5-7 Chev as the core supports are all the same - may be from a GMC, which were slightly different dimensions
