I had to remove the head due to a head gasket leak and I will hopefully put that back together this weekend, I hope? The truck belonged to my Grandfather way back when, and somewhere along the way it became a 12v conversion. Presently it has a switched starter, and I would guess it is 12v as well. I want to make it a Foot Stomp and was wondering other than counting the teeth on the flywheel, how I can be sure that it is a 12v and not a 6v switched starter? Thanks for all responses!

I can tell you the 6 volt flywheel has 139 teeth, and the starter drive will have 7 teeth. The 12 volt flywheel has 168 teeth and the starter drive has 9 teeth. So I doubt it has been changed. If it has a 6V starter (w/ 216 flywheel) it will spin like no tomorrow on 12V. Thats the setup I have on MaryAnne, my little 53' and it tries to throw the engine out of the frame. Lots of folks run this setup and it works fine.
