I have a 250 six in my truck would like to change the leaky old thing. I looked and I do think it could be done , but thought maybe if someone did it what problems if any did they have.... #68736 11/16/2006 5:35 PM | Joined: Aug 2005 Posts: 6,377 Ex Hall Monitor | | Ex Hall Monitor Joined: Aug 2005 Posts: 6,377 | I had to remove the frame crossmember & flywheel cover to get mine off (38 216). When you go back on with the pan use two or three 1 1/2" bolts with the heads cut off to help with the alignment. Use bolts the same size & thread as the stove bolts holding the pan on. Put one or two finger tight on each side of the pan. Use these as alignment guides to position the pan. Put the rest of the fasteners in but not tight. Remove the alignment bolts, install the fasteners in those holes and tighten all. Good luck.
