Hi all! Asking your indulgence in advance for my ignorance... still learning!

I need the complete rocker arm assembly for a 1955; my question is if I need to limit the search to only that model year, or if the engine changed significantly from prior years.

Serial no. OI535F55Z IIUC, this is a Flint 1955, may have come from an auto, standard trans? I can't figure out the 'OI'. Casting no. 3836233. What model years can I search for rocker arm assemblies? Must be rebuilt. Thanks in advance for any help! The engine now resides in my '50 3100, if that makes a difference.

That O might be a 0 and would be part of the unit number (sequence number).

Hope that Pre '68 Dave will post information about rocker arm assemblies (over the years there were differences in the oil-feed path, and maybe in the rocker arms?).

1954-58 will be a direct replacement as an assembly.

The rocker arms and shafts are the same from 1950-58 on 235s.

The supports from 1950-53 are slightly different.

The rocker arms starting in 1959 have the oil groove inside the rocker offset, part of an oiling change, but will work OK, if setup correct, in a pinch.

It's a Passenger car engine with manual trnasmission. Had it been a Truck engine, the code would come out as a '55 First, Second Series have 255 as the year code.
