64 Pete 'Bolter 6 Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 77 Pa	Hi, I was hoping someone has an SM420 laying around and could measure from the front of transmission to centerline of shift tower. My SM465 measures 5 1/2". The SM420 is 10 1/2" overall, and the SM465 is 12"long. (http://advanceadapters.com/resources/964/Manual-Transmissions.html) Just trying to get an idea of shifter hole location with added length of OD unit. Thanks. And the shifter would be pushed back. Are you going to modify the shifter or simply have the shifter closer to the seat? Thanks for the information. Looks just swapping the SM-465 in place of a 420 moves lever back 1", plus the 7 1/2" for the OD unit. Now I'll have to see how putting in a 292 effects driveline location. How do I see the price? I also saw that they are saying out of stock until 12-1-10. Do they offer that with the smaller bearing retainer to fit in front of a SM-420? Good luck. Keep us informed about how this works in your Panel truck. Oh, and pictures! We love pictures. Professional Novice

Several months back, I snagged a Power Torque Industries cast iron version of this OD unit with thought of also placing in front of my SM420. I have the add'l task of re-swapping back in my 3.90 ring/pinion.
