new guy from Central Indiana. Just got a '48 Thriftmaster. Does not run, but was given second engine - 261. Mild surface patina - some rust thru in the normal places. The 261 should give you good service, I have that engine as well.
To find a rear fender, check out the swap meet, you need to be specific because Suburbans and panel fenders are different than pickup fenders and we don't know what you need.
