So far I'm OK with the quality of the product, but not the installation instructions, the how-to articles on their website, or the answers I got when I called them directly. My question is what are the proper torque values for the bolts in this kit... I'm hoping someone out there in Stove Bolt land has done this before or has general knowlege of disc brake installations and can guide me. Here is what I need and what I have done so far: Bottom Caliper Bracket bolts that secure the braket and the steering arm to the spindle are Grade 8 bolts, 1/2" I have torqued to 75 ft lbs, Grade 8 Top Caliper bracket bolts are 7/16" I torqued to 55 ft lbs. I haven't installed the caliper pin/bolts that secure the caliper to the caliper bracket yet, I found one website that had a torque value for these pins at 37 ft lbs. I also looked for torque values on the original brake backing plate bolts in the shop manual and couldn't find anything as a reference either. The original bolts use a castillated bolt with a cotter pin for safety, the kits is just a bolt, nut, and washer. Any concerns there? Any help would be appreciated. Bug

But seriously folks, from a chart that came with my Bush Hog, grade 8 ½-13 bolts, 106 ft-lb. Grade 8 ½-20 bolts, 120 ft-lb. Grade 8 7/16-14 bolts, 70 ft-lb. Grade 8 7/16-20 bolts, 78 ft-lb. I used the CCP kit on my '54 GMC. Had to do a little modifying. Click on my website link then go to '54 GMC, then to "Front suspension". | | |

As for torque values, since I posted I have done some digging in a couple of fastener cataloges and a how-to brake manual and concure my Grade 8/20 bolts need a few more foot lbs of torque, 120ish on the 1/2" bolts and 75ish on the 7/16" . The caliper pin torque specs I am finding indicate the 37 ft lbs is correct. Thanks for the help on this - Bug
