One upper bracket is broke off at about frame level. A new hole was drilled below and the shock attached. The other side appears to have broken off as well and welded to try to repair. One shock short and one long. Is there any source or alternative for upper mount replacement. I bought a replacement from LMC. I used good Grade 8 bolts & nuts that fit the rivet holes (i.e. not from Lowe's). Mine were from a local nut & bolt store. I also used the red Loctite. This is #271 not the usual blue #242. According to the guy at the store the red is only removable with heat. I was hoping I could find a replacement. Looked through LMC and others. Can find replacements for pre 55 mounts but nothing for late 50's. I think I'll get busy and hunt for an old frame for these mounts. I guess you could make something that would work but will keep my eyes open for the real thing.

I see the shock brackets for the 47-55 Trucks, and I'm wondering if I can use those and just use the older style shocks.
Has anyone tried this? Are the mounting holes the same?
