A positive feature is that it is adjustable for tire sizes and gear ratios. Two negative feature are 1. that the transition from one digit to the next is very jerky, not smooth like the electronic speedo on my Honda car and 2. it picks up an electronic signal from something else in the car for the first few minutes the engine is running when it has not been run for a while and registers speed and distance while the car is standing still.

New Vintage gaugesDid you do it??? And it so have you done a Tech Tip on how to do it???? I'd be one of many who like to see that.....joe Guilty as charged! This link shows how I did it with brief descriptions below each picture. Unfortunately you have to 'sacrifice' a set of original gauges,mine were toast anyway. There's also a tech tip from another fellow 'bolter Danimal on the New Vintage site. To be fair,that's where I got the idea in the first place.... Thanks again Dan!

Joe, thats the very same one, Dan did his for the later gauges,so I just 'adapted' ('scuse the pun) the technique to suit the earlier pre 54 ones.
