Thanks,Jerry | | | | | Joined: Aug 2000 Posts: 800 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Aug 2000 Posts: 800 | If you are looking for cheap, then why do disc brakes at all? Re-do your drums with quality components and you will have plenty of stopping power. THAT is the least expensive, most bang for the buck way of upgrading your brakes. Do the rears at the same time. If if makes you feel better, put a dual master on and split the system. Drive the truck and let us know how inadequate your brakes are after you have rebuilt them to factory spec. When you switch to discs, by the way, most of the time you will need to switch wheels, because the standard wheels don't fit anymore. Sounds like money saved to me!:)
Speed, Price, Quality; pick any Two!

I was very satisfied. They have a cheaper kit that leaves the extras out/ performanceonline.com | | | | | Joined: Aug 2000 Posts: 800 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Aug 2000 Posts: 800 | I have a 1961 1/2 ton shortbed and the steering on it is so light and responsive, that it really doesn't need power steering. With properly inflated tires, and a properly serviced front end, again, maybe you just don't need to spend the dough right now. Real men don't need power steering. C'mon, give it a shot. you might actually enjoy the experience of driving an old truck the way it was meant to be. In this economy, doesn't it make sense to make do with what you have, and if it's not satisfactory, THEN you can blow all kinds of dough on the PS,PB,AC,BS. | | | | | Joined: Dec 2008 Posts: 319 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Dec 2008 Posts: 319 | I'll go along with k10: there's nothing wrong with those big drums if they're up to snuff.
cm If you can't fix it with a hammer and screwdriver, you need a bigger hammer.1965 Chevy C10 | | |
