Does anyone know if there is such a thing? I would prefer a cradle since I expect to be working off-and-on the engine over an extended period of time. I do have a regular rotating engine stand that worked fine for my 283, but I'm afraid the 348 may be a little heavy for that stand. The 348/409 (W motor) were the precursors to the big block and the dimensions and weights are very close to the same. The motor mount and bellhousing patterns are identical. A complete W motor will weigh in the neighborhood of 650#'s so make sure your engine stand is up to it. I've got a 348 currently bolted to a universal chevy V8 engine dolly I bought from Summit on sale for about $35.00. Other than the poor import quality, and lousy casters which collasped, it does a good job of keeping it off the floor and upright, just not mobile.
