There is a mounting plate attached to the engine to accept the larger houseing. That's where that upper hole in the pattern on truck engines comes in.

Unless you'll be putting it in another big truck you may want to downsize.
I'm certainly not a gas engine or V8 expert, but I've seen the larger setups in the bigger trucks, that may be what you have?
