Or is the 66 a Saginaw, and the 69 a later all synchro Muncie. The 69 should bolt right in providing the spline count on the input shaft is the same. There maybe a question as to whether the shift linkage will work.

| | | | | Joined: Jul 2001 Posts: 3,887 Cruising in the Passing Lane | | Cruising in the Passing Lane Joined: Jul 2001 Posts: 3,887 | the linkage should be the same but like Larry points out, the difference in the pre and post 68 trannys [nonsyncro and syncro] will be the spline count, you'll need to change the driveshaft slip yoke, not to big a deal if you can find one
