Slip it over the tube, then grab it tightly with vise grips and use a hammer to tap it out of the block. Works well, and doesn't damage the tube!

A few minutes on the lathe and I’ll have a new tip for my slide hammer. Before I took my short block up to the engine shop I tried to figure a good way to get it out with out destroying it. Back in the day we would just yank them out and then when we stopped by the Chevy parts department we would have them throw one in with the other parts for our rebuild.
