My dad has decided it is time to retire from farming.My older brother farms with him and is buying most of the stuff.One thing he doesn't want is the 1969 C60.Dad came by today to see if I would part it out for him.Asked him what he wanted for it and he told me I could have it if wanted.SCORE!!!Has a BB 360 in it that needs some carb work and the grain bed has seen it's better days but it don't matter to me.I'll get some pics of it when it becomes mine.

It should have a 366 big block, that's what replaced the 348 in 66. If it was a twin screw it could have a 427 in 69. Either way congratulations on scoring it. I have a 72 C-60 with the 366 and working 4th 5 speed. I also have a 65 C-80 that I restored for my dad a few years before he passed away. Clean it up good and make him glad he gave it to you, you'll be glad you did.

Yea Marl it has a 366.I made a typo.It does have the twin screw and we assumed it was a 427 when we got it 20+ years ago.But when dad had some motor work done several years back the only thing that would work on it was 366 parts.

From the picture you've got a nice looking truck. My dad had a '69 Chevy C60 twin screw tandem axle (10 wheel) tractor with a 427 that we used until 1974. It was a good handling truck with a 5 spd. main and a 4 spd. aux. transmission. It would burn 8-10 more gallons of gas per day than the 409 equipped C80 dead axle tandem tractors that we were using at the same time. A twin screw truck drew more power from the motor since two differentials and a power divider were involved, thus more fuel was burned when compared with a dead axle tandem with only one differential and no power divider drawing power.

Your picture shows a single axle truck with dual wheels which would not be a twin screw, its a 6 wheel type. I noticed air horns on top, so you've got air brakes? That's a heavy type of a single axle C60 truck you've got, air brakes are a big plus in my opinion.

There originally was a placard on the inside of the glovebox door that listed all the part numbers and original equipment on those chassis. i your lucky yours may still be there.

FYI, the 427 trucks had that on an emblem side of them as I recall.

That was another cool thing about those trucks. The 366's had one vent on the drivers side, 427's had one on each side with 427 behind it. I always thought it was a nice touch. On my 72 the air cleaner is still attached to the vent. It's also an air brake, dayton wheel 60 series.

Yea it has airbrakes.Dad said it was an OTR truck before he got it.Had a fifth on it tho I don't remember that.He had the chassis stretched so he could put the grain bed on it.It just has alot of sentimental value to me as that was the truck I learned to drive in and driving it was one of the first things I done on the farm.
