Think I just found a 261 in an old Canadian Pontiac. Will confirm tomorrow as I need a wire brush to get rid of the crud over the casting number.
The price is only $150 so I'm not out much if it turns out to be junk, especially since it has the 848 head (typical of Canadian Pontiacs). The block looks a bit rusty though, do these usually clean up ok?
Thanks,
Bob

The rust on the outside doesn,t matter it,s whats inside that counts. If you do a complete rebuild you will get it boiled out. As soon as you get it back spray it with some primer. If you o-haul it yourself you can spray it with Rust-0-leum rusty metal primer.

They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing.
