I tore down my 1406 Edelbrock today. I screwed up one of the jets so I'm going to have to buy another. I just don't know what size. One primary was .095. The other I had to drill out so I don't know what size it was. Here's the weird part. The secondaries were .096 and .098. Why would they be different size?

What size jets would be recommended for a 1406 on a 350 with auto for economy performance? I don't care about going fast.

CALIBRATED FOR FUEL ECONOMY
Designed for small-block and small displacement big-block engines, these carbs are recommended only for stock to Performer level applications. Match with an Edelbrock Performer or Performer EPS manifold and other brands of similar design. Calibrated 2% leaner than #1405. Includes both timed and full vacuum ports for ignition advance. Comes with: Metering Jets – Primary .098, Secondary .095; Metering Rods – .075 x .047; Step-Up Spring – yellow (4" Hg). Use our Carb Stud Kits #8008 or #8024 if needed

looks like 95 and 98 would be correct,, someone may have installed the 96 by mistake or the only one they have,,, I am no carb guy but this seems to be an answer to your question or close to it..later

That sounds like info I can use. Thanks Joker. Now I hope my FLAPS carries them.

Thanks Wrenchbender, but I have a set ordered that should be in tomorrow I ordered .092s and .095s.

I went to the Edelbrock website and found all kinds of good info there but nothing specific about what works well on a stock 350. I think I was running rich the way the previous owner had it so I decided to de-tune it with .095 primaries and .092 secondaries. We'll see how that works.

The one I had was rich. I weaned it down but finally changed to a Q-jet.

I like it. It has plenty of pickup to suit me. I hope it gets better mileage. It was a guzzler before.

I'm at altitude, so I had to re-jet my 1406, made a difference.
Don't know where you are but Edelbrock does give info if you
are a ways above sea level...
