I need the specifics about the rad. #3863109244
Is there a fact sheet available, or how should I measure the original so that PRC can send me a replacement?
The rad goes with what I believe is the original 216
engine.

Here is the page from the parts manual. Are you sure you have the correct radiator?

I have a stock '37 radiator if you wnt some measurements.

Is the original rad " shot ". I have stock rad in my '40, running a 327 SBC. I had rad flushed and checked over, added a pusher style elec. fan - it is able to keep motor at 190 in stop & go traffic.

Yes sir the radiator is stock with the 216 engine.
I want to replace the radiator with a new one.
But it looks as if the only way to get an exact fit is to send the old radiator to whoever sells me a new one.

Walker Rad in Memphis or Griffin in South Carolina.

It appears the outlet valve which a 1.5 inch hose fits extends out and then 90 degree up but then curves 40 degree.
I'm worried that a straight outlet valve standard on a lot of replacement rads will not work. even with a flexible rad hose.
It just seems like the radiator shops would have the ability to get the exact specs for a replacement with out me sending in the original.
Appreciate your interests,
Carl

The original is not shot. But I would like to replace it.
But I would like the replacement to have the same specs(outlet valve to pump especially). I would like to get an aluminum replacement.
The outvalve off the rad is the problem. The radiator shops are out of state and don't seem to have the exact specs to replicate the original. To complicate matters I need to replace the radiator support bracket.
Thanks for your interest.

I just bought a radiator for my 39 from the Brass Works in California. They had one to use as a template. Real nice job just wish the top tank was narrower... But the inlet and the outlets are as stock. Core is a little thicker.

Bubba, if you choose to go with a aluminum replacement, you could always get the lower outlet changed by a local weld shop. They could weld on any outlet you want or change the one on there. I have seen that done with good success. Mine is a straight lower outlet, but since I run a 250 engine, it was easy for me to adapt. In fact the lower hose runs under and around, then over the top of the oil filter. I picked up about 3/4 of a gallon of coolant just in the hose!
