working on puting a TCI mustang II airride suspension on a 53 chevy P.U. want to keep 235, but the oil pan sits to low and power rack hits oil pan. Added a 1/2 inch riser to front motor mount, but still not enough clearance. Any suggestiond?

Welcome to the Stovebolt pages. You only need to post in one forum. Double posting won't get quicker answers. Don't get impatient. It's not an instant answer board. Someone has probably had the same problem. You just need to wait for him to come around.

Smokey,
I've heard they won't fit with any of the aftermarket cross members a few times but don't remember their being a definitive. I was running a M2 Car cross member in my 53 1/2 ton and it worked just fine, don't know how the aftermarket one's differ. Did TCI say it would work? I'd start with them.
I know it's been discussed here in the past in the HiPo section but can't find it yet searching.

The top hats of the MII are not above the frame as in the case of some of the other manufacturers. This allows the clearance needed for the 235 engine. You do sacrifice a couple of inches of drop in the overall height of the front end but that can be made up by cutting down the coil springs. If you are looking to slam it on the ground, then you may want to go to an air ride system. I plan on driving my truck to work every day during the fair weather months, so I didn't want go the air bag route.
