I just bought a set of SS headers for my 261 from Hotrods of Norco.

Ha!

They welded them from the engine side and let a 3 milimeter welding seam or ridge standing there where the gasket goes - same on the exhaust flanges).
(1 hour of grinding and hope they don`t fall appart)

Some clown managed it to weld the "NORCO" Logo plate upside down on the headers.

Where the tubes meet, the hole in the large one is way smaller then the tube diameter of the small one, wich will cause an big edge standing there, awfull turbulence and restriction - almost no chance to grind it down because it is to fare in the tube to reach.

Flanges are bent up to a view milimeters.

Worst of all - it does not clear the column shifter linkage on my 41 sedan.

Good to know that my new boat anchor is SS so it will never rust away.

I wrote them an mail - no reaction since then - Germany is far away.

Aaaargh! Frank

You didn't like the "...added welded O-rings around each port to eliminate leaks." so you ground them off?

Yeah, right grin

That´s what they call that build in leak.

The little bit of grinding I had to do on my Patricks re-pops doesn't seem to be a big deal anymore. Thanks Frank. This site is a great way to keep these guys accountable. I was considering those headers. Not anymore.
