I am in th process of redoing a 1951 ad truck. I would like to know what width rear end I need to get the widest tires I can on it. I have a ford 9" that is @56 inches wide, however I am afraid that might be to narrow. Any help would be appreciated. Does anyone know the stock width, I was thinking they were around 62 inches. Thanks for the help

The width of your rims/tires is more about how much room there is from the leaf springs to the fender. Look on line for custom wheel dealers, most have a drawing of how to measure for your wheel.
So using your 9" Ford axle as an example, center it in the wheel opening and measure backspace and front space and if you decide on the Ford you can get your wheels made to your measurements.

If I remember correctly you have 62 inches to the center of the wheel-well. You didn't say if it was a 1/2 or a 3/4 ton. The 3600 has a frame that is 11 inches more narrow than the 1/2 ton. The 3600 would allow for some pretty big wheels if you want to tub your bed.

Mine is a 10 bolt 1980 Camaro. It fit perfectly and a Firebird disc brakes will bolt right on.
