Hi i have this truck on my farm in South Africa (western Cape) in running order & all original it is no longer being used and i would like to sell it. what could i ask for her?

The price would depend on the economy, market and what a person would be willing to pay. Are you asking for a price in U.S. for a similar truck? The shipping would kill most deals.

The truck looks to be in reasonably good shape but the steering wheel is on the wrong side.

Best to try to sell it locally.

On a really good day, with the wind blowing in the right direction, and the moon in the correct phase, you might be able to get $2000.USD for it as it sits, if you were lucky and found somebody who really had to have it.
But even that would be a total guess, and like FriedGreenTmater says, its best to sell it locally, shipping it would kill any deal here.
That is unless you included shipping for that same price, and didn't want to get paid until after the truck was delivered, as nobody here is going to send any money to another continent without some serious guarantees.
So bottom line, sell it local to you, good luck!

FWIW,

I have 2 55 1st 4400's. Both run and are in good shape. (need paint and upulstry but are all there mechanically)

I paid $300 for the first one. It had been towed by the city and the owner was fed up. Needed new rubber and the fuel tank cleaned out.

$1000 for the second one with four new tires and two wheels in great shape thrown in. As near as I can tell, all original with the origional flat bed.

Mine didn't have as nice a paint job or interior as yours.

I am not a '57 man, but I'd say in my neck of the woods $2k would be a good sale right now. Not as many guys are into the big bolts and what guys are into them seem to be a bit short on cash right now. (At least I am!)

If it was me and I didn't have to sell her, I'd hang on for at least a couple of years until the market gets better. But then again, I'd never sell her in the first place (My wife says it's a sickness)

Have you checked into the cost of shipping it to the States?
The right hand drive would be the only selling point.
Right now I have two big bolts and paid 160$ for my 1950 at an auction and 500$ for the 1946.
The bigger Bolt Fire truck is another story, but it was less than 2,000$, taxes, tags and a years insurance included.

The demand for Big bolts is limited due to there size and cost to run.

Sure would be cool to have a right hand drive Big Bolt here in the states!!
