Just introducing myself to the 3800 crowd. Picked up a '50 3800 dually with a straight body and engine still turns, just need to get a battery setup. I know I don't have much knowledge and hope to learn as much as I can from you all.

Welcome to the Stovebolt and the Tons of Fun crowd in particular!

We'll be as much help as we can.

A tip to get better faster responses: When posting a question think first about how general the question is. If you are asking about your motor Tons of Fun won't get you as many readers as posting in the Engine and Driveline shop will, though the motors are the same so the answers are likely to come faster.

On the other hand, if the question has anything to do with the 8-lug parts of the truck, this is probably the best place to ask.

I grew up in the Boise area and have a real hankering to visit again soon. Probably won't happen soon, but when the time comes maybe you'll let me look at your truck.
