Here is what I got: 283 V8(originally 6 cyl), HEI, alternator. I think I also have the original two position ignition switch for a 6 cyl. Did this old ignition switch necessitate the installation of the under dash push button for the starter a previous owner installed?
Should I try to do the same thing with the new harness, or just get a new igniton switch. I was thinking an electric foot switch would be cool, just wire up like the push button?

but I'd recommend going with the correct key start V8 ignition switch
