I couldn't find answer in 'search'. I have a '51 3100 on a '94 s-10 chassis w a 350/350th. Would like to know how to use the stock '51 speedo w/ the 350th. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

That's how it worked for my 53truck-73chassis setup. | | | | | Joined: Jul 2010 Posts: 89 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Jul 2010 Posts: 89 | Thank you! I'll head to the salvage yard and see what I can find. Didn't think it would be that easy. So would then, an early 70's cable have the correct end at the speedo head?Realize ratio may still be off depending on rear end ratio but I'll worry about that when I know if the speedo head is still good.

Ithink you will find that the 94 s10 has an electronic speedometer sender and will not have a spot to attach a regular cable. You may have a problem mating the two technologies.

The Speedometer cable from a 79 model Buick will work. There are probably about a thousand others that will also. | | | | | Joined: Jul 2010 Posts: 89 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Jul 2010 Posts: 89 | Thanks wasn't sure if both ends of a 'modern' cable would work. correct - the chasis (complete) is s-10 '94 with a '71 350/350th power train and a mini blazer rear end for 4 wheel disc brakes. Had to shorten the 51 bed about 10" though. Looking to rod this truck so being a little shorter looks pretty tough.

It is very close to the right length and has the correct connections on both ends. | | | | | Joined: Jul 2010 Posts: 89 Wrench Fetcher | | Wrench Fetcher Joined: Jul 2010 Posts: 89 | thank you for the follow up.
