Hey all. I`m looking to replace my heater core on my 1962 GMC. Mine is shot and non repairable. It has a funky valve attached to it. The one in LMC catalogue did not look correct to me. Any ideas?

I bought the one on Rockauto. It has no valve, and the rearmost connection comes up out of the top of the heater box, not the fromt like the valve does. I think you could re-work the box to make this work. However, I got a NOS valve off of e-bay. I brought the old heater core to a local radiator shop. They took the tank that the valve connects to off it and put it on the core I got from Rockauto. Back in business with an original set up.

I too have the "thermatic valve" I don't know whether I'm going to use it or simply put a small ball valve under the hood but the fire wall. I live in South Louisiana and it does not get that cold. email me off BB and I can forward you a pictures of the valve.
