Got a 50 1/2 ton panel I'm rebuilding the steering box on. Quick question though, upon removal of the lower worm shaft bearing there was a pressed in retiner. In the new kit there isn't that piece. There are of course new bearings and race, does that new bearing and race just sit at the bottom on top of the worm bearing adjuster and against the worm shaft assembly at the top?Hope this makes sense to someone, thanks

The instructions I got with the kit I used said that retainer you are describing was just used during factory assembly and to toss it out. It pulls out with a little persuasion.

Thanks, I was able to get the old and bad retainer off. Wanted to make sure I didn't need to find another because nobody has them. Now I know I don't need to worry about it. THANKS!
