I am not the expert
but I do know that you need a adapter to adapt a 235 to a Turbo350
I have also herd that some of the adapter plates were not as strong as compeating brands,?
hopefully some one will come along to enlighten the subject.

GM offered the powerglide behind 235's and used a cast iron adapter. Since the PG and 350 bolt up the same it's all factory stuff. We usually found them in 60-62 cars since more people were starting to order automatics by then. You will have to fab a rear mount.

Hey Coilover. Will the earlier powerglide adapter (1953) bolt to a 350 turbo transmission or is it different on the transmission side?

Hy guys, the factory adapter to put the powerglide behind the 235/261 will not allow anything but that model powerglide to be installed, that model powerglide has a shorter bellhousing [to allow for the adapter] which has a different bolt pattern. Hope that helps.

That's what I was thinking, too. There were 2 different adapters for the early Powerglide, 1 for the 6 and 1 for the 8. It's most definetly not the same as the later Hydromatics.
