The rear c clamp broke and the springs are jammed against the hangers base. The spring does not look broken but I am not sure. Can this mess be fixed with out removing the springs ? They can be replaced but something a spring shop would have to do I would think. Is this problem affecting your ride or making noise? Can I lift the frame off the spring and put it back where it belongs? I think the three leafs at the broken c clamp can be temporally pulled back together with a pulley puller. You are right it is not safe if it is falling off the rear hanger.
Sounds like the spring has worn through.
Take off the "spring eye bolt" nut and washer and then remove the bolt. The bolt is threaded into the hanger. There is supposed to be a bushing in the "spring eye".
Also, if one side is worn, then chances are the other side is too.
