Does anyone know if vacuum wiper motors were made with different strokes? I’m trying to use a stock vacuum wiper system on my ’41. My problem seems to be that my wiper motor stroke is too long. The truck has a stock height windshield. The wiper blade hits both the windshield center divider and the top of the windshield frame. I have tried the motor that came with the truck and one off of e Bay with similar results. I have also tried various length arms and blades, but the results are always the same the stroke is too long.

when I was solving the same situation than you, I used three differents kinds of vacuum wiper motor to adapt them to work. Too short strokes, too long strokes, poor power, etc. At the end, tired and frustrated, bought the electric one on classic parts and my problem ends, of course, after expent much more money and time.
My advise: use the specific motor for your truck, whatever electric or vacuum.
My truck is 52 chevy 3/4ton.

I have since found out that these wiper motors were made with strokes of 89, 107,117 & 126 degrees so I’m fairly sure I have one that has a longer stroke that required.
