I think that any patch panels need to be "fitted"and alot of the parts even American made stuff needs some fitting they say it will fit 47 to 54 but not all trucks were not made the same, thats why you try and save as much of you're old truck as you can,I've had good luck with American classic, and for door and window stuff The Truck shop in Orange Cal.

No matter how crappy some of the parts I've bought are they are still a helluva site better than trying to make it from scratch.

Have bought parts from both never missed an order even all the way over here in oz. Only patch panels I needed were the front edge of the rear fenders as the PO had welded the fenders to the running boards. Bought those thru Jim carter again no problem in delivery however these were only used as patterns and modified to suit . As the above entry says trucks are different and the way we as individuals do things makes a universal patch panel not quite a reality . close but no cigar

John,

Had good luck with Jim Carter's on the rear lower cab patch panels. Talk to Jimmy or Mike.

Ordered a tight rocker panel from LMC. Wasn't the cheapest, but it sure is quality metal.

My two experiences in the body panel area. Not trying to disrespect any of the vendors previously mentioned. Just my.02.

P.S.

Let me take this opportunity to say how 'bout them Gamecocks!

I agree with Czechman. I've bought patch panels from both venders and had to do some adjusting, but the metal quality was good and overall were easy to work with.

So far as I know all the patch panels come from the same place in Tiawan.
I have ordered parts from Am. Classic Trucks, I have no complaints per se, they however cannot help you on a technical issue like how tos and such. They do have VERY helpful pics on their site showing HOW things fit together, click on the "info" link in their on line catalog to see.
