I just bought a 1955 1st series, one ton. I want to get it on the road and I'm kinda in a hurry to find some modern wheels that will work. I read all the relevant posts my search came up with and I haven't found an answer yet.
Currently it has stock split rims on it, duels in back. I don't have a local shop that will deal with split rims and I'd really like to get radials on this truck.
I've tried three sets of 16" wheels I had access to with no luck, none of them clear the steering. I'd prefer a bigger wheel diameter than 16", but I'm all ears for any and all help with what wheels will work and what trucks they are found on.
I like the duels in rear, but I'm not opposed to singles either.

Also, I know modern duely trucks have wheels such that, all six are interchangeable. Is this the case for your wheels? I'm really just concerned about clearance for the steering.
